Britney Jean Spears is a well-known American pop diva who will be remembered as one of the best western pop performers. She was up in Kentwood, Louisiana, and always had a passion for the performing arts.

Childhood & Early Days

She had an early interest in the performing arts. She was just 8 years old when her mother drove her to Atlanta for a Disney audition for “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1990s. Britney was turned down at the time due to her youth.

She went back to “The Mickey Mouse Club” in 1992 to try out again, and this time she was chosen among other young performers like Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera, etc. After two seasons, the show was cancelled, and Spears returned to Kentwood.

Career Spears’ debut album was produced in Stockholm, Sweden’s Cheiron Studios, where she was assigned by A&R’s senior vice president to work with producer Eris Foster, who helped her voice take on a more pop-oriented approach.

Her debut album, “…Baby One More Time”, was published in 1999 and immediately shot to the top of the Billboard 200 list. It was the best-selling album by an adolescent and featured the Billboard Hot 100’s top-ranking song.

“Oops!… I Did It Again”, Spears’s second studio album, was released in 2000, The record for the highest debut sales by a solo artist was broken.

She secured $8 million contract with Pepsi in 2001 and co-wrote the book “A Mothers’ gift” with her mother. Britney, her third album, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 upon its release.

Spears appeared in the Hollywood film “Crossroads” in 2002; although the film did not do well, several critics praised Spears’ performance.

Her fourth studio album, “In the Zone”, came out in 2003. Most of the songs on the album were co-written by her, and it was also co-produced. At least 10 million copies of the record were sold worldwide. It contained the Grammy Award winning song “Toxic”.

Spears released “Greatest Hits: My Prerogative” in 2004. It included a popular cover of Bobby Brown’s “My Prerogative” in addition to a collection of her greatest songs over the years.

Spears’ debut remix album, “B in the Mix: The Remixes”, was published in 2005. One million copies of the album were sold worldwide. She made an appearance on “Will & Grace” in the episode “Buy, Buy Baby” that same year.

She released “Blackout” in 2007, and it sold 3 million copies worldwide. It also won Album of the Year at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

She broke the record for the youngest female artist to have five of her albums debut at number one in the “Guinness Book of World Records” when her sixth studio album, “Circus”, was published in 2008.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, a celebrity from the “The Mickey Mouse Club” era, were romantically connected from 1999 until 2002. Both celebrities publicly acknowledged their connection to the media in 2000, and when they split up in 2002, there were widespread speculations that Spears had cheated on him.

In 2004, she wed her friend Jason Allen Alexander; however, she quickly declared the union null and void, claiming that she was inexperienced in marriage.

After dating American back dancer Kevin Federline for only three months, she became engaged to him in 2004. After some time, they got married, and the next year, Sean Preston Federline was born.
